Currently the Starwood site is zoned for SP and has plans that were approved in 2018 for mixed use. The plans included over 500 homes with space for local restaurants, office space, and retail.

The developer wants to change those plans to allow for close to 70% of the land to be zoned for industrial use and place warehouses on it. This would allow for more trucks to flow onto an already overcrowded Hobson Pike and Old Hickory Blvd. exit. Their plans would not address the traffic issues at the Murfreesboro Pike/Hobson Pike intersection, if fact their plans would make it worse. 

By blocking this zoning change, we could go back to the table with the developer and discuss a better alternative that would demand positive growth in our area. It would announce that we are not Nashville's dumping ground!
