West Virginia is getting $25 Million for Orphaned Oil and Gas Wells cleanup

Oil and gas has been a topic of conversation for quite sometime in politics, especially in West Virginia. I have reached out to my state senators, specifically Mr. Joe Manchin. I have been disappointed over and over again, email after email, phone call after phone call with no response back. As a citizen of the state I would like to have been seen and heard with my issue which is part of the bigger picture that is being fought.

Obviously legislation knows about the concerns and safety hazards of methane gas. In the statement beside Shelley Moore Capitio, officials state that the leaking oil and gas have a major effect on climate control, it is a pollutant that causes safety concerns to people who aren't aware that their backyard and homes are affected. I am glad to see that the state is taking initiative to close in the orphaned wells in the state but we have an immediate problem with the fugitive emissions of methane that is causing people to have health affects and they are not being addressed.

Testing has not been done to see how much gas has been released and what health concerned were caused by it. The abnormality of the crop circle in my backyard which is believed to be fugitive emissions of methane has not been looked at or tested. I believe it is time for the federal government to do testing because the health conditions are only going to get worse, especially during the wintertime. There is a great pride I have to help the people in need and since I know of the issues in our backyards I will do what must be done to give them a life where they do not have to be sick and suffer
