The foremost account had a following of 6 million people and over 38K posts. For Meta, Inc. to wipe this account is an act of bold censorship and a violation of freedom of the press/media. This fundamental principle is that communication and expression through various media, including printed and electronic media, especially published materials, is considered a right to be exercised freely. To remove Eye.on.Palestine's original account is to wipe out years of journalistic practice and raw documentation of Israeli attacks on Gaza and human rights abuses in Palestine. They should be able to keep their primary account to avoid generating a backup account and losing all the necessary stories to be told.

Predating the Hamas attack on October 7 and Israel's most recent aggression on Gaza, 19 days and counting, Eye.on.Palestine has been a source of accurate reports and honest coverage of what is happening on the ground in Palestine. We see unprecedented attacks and slaughter committed by the Israeli government and IDF with the US Biden administration and other Western nations backing. Still, our only true sight is the genuine and authentic footage shared by accounts such as Eye.on.Palestine.

In fear of global awareness and a liberated truth on the rise, Meta/Instagram has removed the Eye.on.Palestine account. While Western media and politicians are banning global peaceful support in nearly every major city, at the same time circulating Israeli government propaganda to justify its breaking of international law, war crimes and genocide of the Palestinian people, having access to truthful media and journalism is always paramount, even more so now. We are witnessing censorship on a global scale. We must protect the little truth left.
