Проблема

Here, I have compiled a number of suggestions for the developers to help improve the quality of the game, as well as to point out the lack of balance and fairness in certain aspects.

REWARDS and CARD TRADE TOKENS:

Here, I’d like to point out that compared to the time and effort that players spend trying to reach high ranks, the rewards for them (for example, tier point rewards in duelling) are not really satisfying. Sure, I agree that cards and gold are always needed in the game, but at the same time too few card trade tokens (and not even all types of them) are being given to us, and there are not enough opportunities to buy them either.

My friends and I firmly believe that something needs to be done about it. That’s why I would like to suggest releasing at least some special event for obtaining dark and mythic card trade tokens every once in a while, since collecting those cards is extremely difficult - takes a long time and lots of luck as well, which definitely scares off new players who often stop playing the game completely once they realise that, even with real money being spent regularly, it’ll still take them years to get and upgrade some of their favourite dark and mythic cards for them to become useful in duels and other battles. For example, just recently, a new echo of Voldemort was released in the game, and a lot of people absolutely loved it, but due to the fact that all dark cards are so rarely given to us and can’t be exchanged whatsoever, while the damage of them is halved, it’s literally unplayable for way too many players.

As you can see, we really do need more dark and mythic cards and a chance to exchange them. Another option to make it happen easily is this: if there was an opportunity to choose between getting a mythic or a dark card trade token after finishing our monthly purchased magic passes or maybe getting one right after purchasing a new pass. Trust me, that would increase its sales significantly. Just think about it: you're only adding 1 token to the pass, but that adds so much value to it, that more and more people will be willing to buy it regularly - that’ll be a win-win situation for both players and game developers for sure.

MYSTERY WHEELS and OWLS:

To be honest, we are all extremely tired of the huge number of owls we have and the lack of their usage. Some of us already have enough owls to run our own owl post office and owl shop at once, and there will still be some owls left. Please either let us use them somehow (for example, send them out to hunt for rewards like the flying Ford Anglia does) or release more pieces of furniture for them, such as the natural owl perch that was part of the seasonal rewards some months ago. Unfortunately, too many players don’t have it, and those who do can’t duplicate it, so with each new mystery wheel finished, we are forced to endlessly collect more and more owls for no clear reason. It’s even more upsetting, since most new owls look too similar to those that we already have, so everyone would be really grateful for your release of other common birds and animals as well as magical creatures. And while we’re on it, different pet accessories, such as cute and funny scarves, hats, and shirts would be a huge hit among players, too. Please think about it.

Also, it would be really great if, at least once in every 3-6 months, we had an opportunity to spend our flying keys, jewels and gems on past mystery wheels or gachas, which we had missed for one reason or another. Please give us a chance to do so and a choice to get what we want without other players’ tastes being involved in the process because it only leads to more people getting frustrated with the voting results and not willing to spend their money on the chosen costume if their own taste is very different.

Sadly, not everyone could find out about the HPMA Global version’s release date in time or spend our real money years ago, but if we can now - please let us do it. It’s just unfair that an access to those nice things is closed for the good - it deprives newer players of additional content, and it deprives you of a huge amount of money. You've already created and released those outfits, accessories, brooms, furniture sets - they’re ready to be used, so why not make your players happy by letting us obtain them and make even more money on your creations again? There will be no losers in this case - both sides will win.

EXPANDING THE RANGE OF DEALS IN THE STORE:

Right now, the store sells a lot of different packs of game resources and so called popular deals for jewels and gems that many players, including me and my friends, never buy because their contents do not match the price. I’d like to suggest releasing some new pieces of furniture, brooms (perhaps even parts of brooms), casual outfits, accessories, and other cosmetic items along with the resources that you already offer. It might also be a good idea to release some rare creatures. Let the cost of them increase, maybe rather significantly if necessary, but a lot of players who buy everything nice they see will purchase them more often, I’m sure. I am telling you this as someone who has spent years working in sales and is pretty familiar with the people’s psychology. Trust me, many players WANT to pay their real money, but only for high-quality things that are not always necessary, yet good-looking and fun.

DESCRIPTION OF ECHOS AND CARDS:

Sadly, some echos and cards, even those older ones, are still lacking a detailed description of their mechanics. For example, it is still unclear how the average card level of our decks is calculated - do we count in the level of companions and/or echo bonuses? Do echo bonuses work on the cards given by the Standard book of spells, Book of spells and Vanishing cabinet? There are many more uncertainties, and if you ask other players, no one knows anything for sure. Maybe this information can be found somewhere online, but it’s not visible anywhere in the game, which is rather confusing. We fully understand that it’s a game about wizards and magic, but even in the Wizarding world, there are still very strict and clear laws, and we would like to be able to learn them.

FRIENDSHIP:

In this part, I would like to mention a bunch of different suggestions that may seem rather small and insignificant at first, but they are those things that may improve our game experience very much.First of all, the house change. We understand that this is not really canonical, but it’s a game where many players have managed to find some real friends and, for example, an option to change their house once in 6-12 months would give them an opportunity to live in the same dormitory, participate in the House Cup together, gift potion ingredients and potions, get more gold during their forest explorations as all dorm mates do, and so on.It’d be nice if you could add even more options like sending more gifts (what if we want to collect or buy and send someone a bit of current gacha tickets, flying keys for the mystery wheel, a pack of red keys, gold, gems, jewels, cards or maybe a new outfit and furniture?), renting our belongings or giving away those items that we don’t need for the good (clothes, hair styles, wands, owls or something else). Make these features fee-based if necessary, but please let us share more things with our friends than we already can. After all, many of the features mentioned above have already been implemented in the Chinese version of the game and have been there for years now, so please just make them available for us, global players, as well (yes, we're still desperately waiting for the Desert, pets, personal dressing room and more patronus options to be released).

MUSIC and OTHER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

One of the school activities that currently takes almost as much time as duelling (even more time for some) is dancing. Music in HPMA sure is amazing and brings joy to all its players. However, unfortunately, we still haven't got any other playable musical instruments, except for the piano and guitar. Have you considered adding more musical instruments that would not only look, but sound differently, too? There are a lot of videos on YouTube where people play music on those instruments and hence promote your game, so adding something new would only encourage them to do it more often and thereby attract new players to HPMA. After all, there was a Frog choir at Hogwarts, so why not add such school activity to the dancing along with playable violin, harp, drums, and other string and wind instruments that could potentially become a whole school orchestra someday? It would be a great alternative to dancing, even with the same mechanics. (Then it would be possible to sell special designs or even create our custom designs for our musical instruments, which sounds like a fun event.)Another thing is that potion making, which is the science beloved by many potterheads in general and all Severus Snape fans in particular, has not been fully implemented in the game even though we have Daniel Page who can’t imagine his life without it. And neither can we! When we just started playing, there were different mechanics such as boiling temperature control, weighing of ingredients, cutting them into pieces and adding them to the cauldron... Since they already exist, please think about adding them or something similar to the game as part of a new Potions class or even better - a new career! There’s no doubt that players will love to feel like a real potions master.

GACHA:

At this point, I would like to offer you an idea for a new line of clothes for upcoming gachas. Most of us are devoted fans of the Wizarding world, and we would really love to dig into this Universe as deep as possible. So I came up with the idea of “The Great Wizards of the Past" clothing line. For example, you could create an image of Godric Gryffindor with some cool animation of his sword and Sorting Hat, Salazar Slytherin with his locket and snake, Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff, the costume of young professor Dumbledore, the mantle of Merlin and so many other historical figures. Also, it would be great if you could add some interesting facts about them, which would fully immerse us in their life and personal style.

RANKED DUELS and HOUSE CUP COMPETITIONS:

As a long term and very active player and duellist who still has very few 18th level cards (despite the time and money I’ve spent in this game), I can safely say that most of the time, the matching system is extremely unfair towards players like me, let alone beginners. Moreover, it’s totally frustrating and demotivating, causing people to leave the game for the good instead of staying, enjoying it to the fullest and investing more money into it.In order to ensure the fairness of each duel and give newbies and players like me an incentive to stay and play, I suggest implementing the following changes.

The card level cap in tiers up to Gold should be 11 or 12. All echo bonuses should be removed.

Next, the card level cap in Gold-Diamond tiers should be 15. All echo bonuses should be removed as well.

The card level cap in Diamond tier should be 18. All echo bonuses should be removed.

Upon reaching the Grand Master tier, no card level cap is needed anymore. All echo bonuses should be unlocked, too.

I firmly believe that much more strict card level caps and echo bonuses bans on lower tiers will finally give ALL players a chance to feel the taste of victory where it’s the players’ skill that matters the most - not their overly high average card level and good luck in finding a good echo. That’s what will definitely give all newer players a real incentive to invest more time, effort and money into the game in order to grow faster and be able to compete in Grand Master tier and higher. Please believe me and other players when we say that being constantly beaten up by local whales in Platinum or Diamond tiers doesn’t motivate us to do it for sure. The same thing applies to the House Cup duelling competitions. Just look at the statistics, and you will see that the same several people keep winning on each server over and over again. Why do you think that happens? Are they so skilled that even after so much time, no other player can compete with them? Or is it because they’re so called whales who use their high levelled cards and echo bonuses to beat anyone who tries to go and get their rewards? I’d bet my money on the latter.Due to such obvious injustice, newcomers are terrified to go there, and those who play for a bit longer already know that they have no chance of defeating whales either, so the whole House Cup turns into a farce. Make the odds equal for everyone, give us all the same level of cards and no echo bonuses as it’s done in Casual matches - only then it will be a fair and equitable tournament.I’d like to underline that I'm not trying to make the game easier and fairer just for myself. I’ve been getting 8100+ duelling points for many seasons now, but I would really want every player, including totally new players (some of whom are my mentees), to have a chance to prove themselves and show their playing skills without having to fight with opponents with 18+ levelled cards (which are usually 20-21 levels) when they themselves only have 13-16 levels.Such unfair matching is extremely humiliating, demotivating and sometimes even enraging, to say the least. It only makes players want to delete the game completely and start playing something else.

By implementing the suggested above restrictions though, you could make this game more attractive to players for sure.Yes, I understand that banning echo bonuses up to Grand Master tier might make some players unhappy for a while, but once they reach it, their unique echoes will be even more appreciated, so everyone, including those players who used to have no hope of climbing up that high because of all the whales they met on their way up and hence no interest in continuing duelling and searching for great echos, will start hunting for them, while echo crystals will stop being the most useless rewards either.

I’d also like to add that it may be worthwhile to start matching real players with the same bot when it comes to House Cup competitions (with the exception of duo duels), since not all houses have the same number of active players, so it is much more difficult for a Gryffindor or Hufflepuff student to find a good dance or quidditch partner than it is for those who chose to be a Slytherin or Racenclaw student. Matching everyone with the same bot in such competitions would give ALL players, including those who couldn’t find a perfect partner, a chance to prove themselves and show their full potential on their own instead of losing points just because they’re alone and were forced to dance/fly with random players who can be not prepared for the competition well enough or even go afk in the middle of the match. Also, it’s important to point out how much the matching time affects our results in such competitions. We can get the best possible results in all rounds and be the first for almost two hours, but if the second place holder is lucky enough to find their matching faster and hence ends up participating in 1 or 2 more rounds, we can lose our title despite being first the whole time. That’s also something that makes people not want to participate in the House Cup at all. So maybe if you can’t really affect the matching time and make it exactly the same for every participant, then limiting the number of possible duels, dances, quidditch matches, quiz rounds for each single player who hasn’t lost a round and then choosing a winner based on their overall statistics would do the trick? As for duo duels, if two friends competed together the whole time and ended up getting the same highest score in their house, then it’d only be fair to make them BOTH 1st place winners and aspiring prefects because it’s literally their team work that let them win, so making one player a prefect and another one a second place holder is not right at all. It simply demotivates players and makes them argue over something that’s supposed to help us get closer and enjoy the game together.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

We spend a lot of time doing achievements. Sometimes they’re easy, but sometimes they’re incredibly difficult to complete. For many months now, I have been thinking about a personal hall of fame - some kind of stand or maybe a cabinet with medals and cups for certain achievements, something that both we and our personal space visitors would be able to see and admire. I think this would be a good feature to motivate players to do more achievements because 10-20 gems or 200 echo crystals definitely don’t do that - you forget about them the moment you got them. When players are given something nice and tangible for a very difficult achievement though, or maybe a certain number of achievements (a medal, a cup or a badge that you can put on a shelf), it makes it very visible that the time we’ve spent hasn’t been wasted, and even our friends can see the results of our efforts.

P.S. A special message to the card balancing team:

Bella’s suitcase, the Twins’ suitcase, Hagrid’s suitcase, Newt’s suitcase, Flitwick’s suitcase, Cedric’s suitcase. If this card were actually balanced, it wouldn’t be spammed with so many echoes. Finally, nerf the damn suitcase already, you jerks.
