Nestled in Northeast Durham, the Merrick-Moore Nature Preserve is poised to become a sanctuary for biodiversity, wildlife, and community connection. This unique project will unite Milan Woods, Landon Farms, Aster Ridge, Northeast Hills, and Merrick-Moore  and other neighborhoods, transforming the property into a haven of natural trails, accessible footbridges, wetlands, and vibrant pollinator gardens. Our vision is rooted in collaboration: local volunteers, schools, and Organizations will actively help maintain and sustain the preserve. KB Homes currently owns the Aster Ridge conservation land. We urge them to transfer it to The Conservation Fund so the Merrick-Moore CDC can steward this legacy for Durham’s future.
