Email reply from Merriam-Webster!

Progress! I just received a reply from Merriam-Webster about adding asexual the orientation, aromantic, and agender to the dictionary. The email they sent is as follows: ============== Dear Sarah, Thanks for your email. We're actually in the middle of a revision of most of the gender and sexuality terms in the Online Dictionary now, and are posting them in updates as we can. Lexicography is a slower process than you'd think, even in the digital age, and so we thank you in advance for your patience as we carefully consider our revisions to these terms. Cordially, Lee Goodrich, Editorial Department Merriam-Webster, Inc. ============= Given how different this reply is from those received by people on Twitter some months ago I am very hopeful that Merriam-Webster is indeed adding these words to the dictionary! I am asking Merriam-Webster to update me on the progress of adding all three words so I can keep you informed about when they are added to the dictionary.
