Update on Wendi O'Neal and MCC

Thanks to all of you for your support in signing the petition and in the months since. As most of you know, Wendi received notice on October 21, 2014 that she was being terminated by MCC effective immediately. She was fired in spite of incredible support and advocacy from all of you and many others who wrote to MCC about the value of Wendi's work. In the time since, Wendi decided to file a complaint with the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). The complaint alleges discrimination by MCC based on race and sex. MCC has received notice of the claim and the EEOC continues to investigate the allegations. Not all claims make it to the point of being investigated so congratulations are in order. We would not be at this point if it were not for the courage of Wendi to come forward and speak her truth, and the support of her legal team and broader beloved community, such as yourself.
