Dear friends, If you have already received a response from your MP about Bill C-246 (even if they will not support the bill), please disregard this e-mail. Everyone else, please read on. Last week we sent out a request for information from you about whether your Member of Parliament will vote in favour of Bill C-246. We have now compiled a list of MPs that we do not know if they have responded to requests to support Bill C-246. We have also produced a letter for you to use to send to your MP if he or she has not yet responded. We need to know where MPs stand on this bill so we can begin to contact those who say they will not support Bill C-246 but may not understand completely what the bill is about. Before we can do that, we need your help to determine if MPs will support the bill. Please go to our website at the link below where you will find instructions and a letter to send to your MP to ask him or her if they will vote in favour of Bill C-246. As Liberal cabinet members are NOT expected to support Bill C-246, we need to get as many MPs on board as possible if this bill is going to pass. In addition, since the Supreme Court of Canada upheld a narrow definition of bestiality in their ruling of June 9, 2016, it is crucial that MPs vote in favour of Bill C-246, which would update that definition to better protect animals.
