News from the Tigers

The other day I decided to email the Tigers GM to inquire about the team making a website to make things easier on us Tiger supporters and backers to obtain items such as membership for the 2016 BigV season. This morning I received an email from Janet Gaze who graciously outlined what the Tigers are doing and below is that email for you to read. Go Tigers! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good morning Ryan, I have been forwarded your recent email with regards to the Melbourne Tigers and the future of the senior program. Firstly, thank you for your interest and your passion. Our club has been lucky over the years to be involved with members such as yourself, who have remained loyal and committed despite the challenges that the club has faced. Rest assured, your concerns and ideas are shared and we still have a strong core of volunteers who are continuing the club’s progression. A new club website has this week been released and it is planned that a senior link to this site will cover all of the areas that our senior program encompasses i.e. Big V (men and women), SEABL & NBL (if and/or when this occurs), merchandise, sponsorship, membership etc etc. If you want to have a look at the work in progress, head to www.melbournebasketball.com.au/girls. There will soon be a /senior link and we are excited by the progress that is anticipated as we move toward the 2016 season. A senior board of management works tirelessly in the background of our club and it is this group that will maintain a relationship with Melbourne United, with a view to retrieving the name/logo/history etc. at the NBL level. This objective may not be realised in the short term but despite this, our club continues to hold close its heritage and pride. The Melbourne Tigers have not disappeared; they continue to flourish at the junior and domestic level and will endeavour to continue to field senior teams at the highest level possible. Whilst the NBL involvement is currently stalled, our club is arguably bigger and stronger than it has ever been and there are exciting times ahead. We hope to keep supporters such as yourself well informed over the coming months and I trust that the plans for the Tigers future, will enthuse all of the Tigers’ diehards!
