Why can't Nacy just finish his degree elsewhere?

This is a common question that comes up all the time. It most certainly has been something Nacy has considered. After all, the end result is the same. Nacy wants to become a teacher and the University of Virginia cannot take away what Nacy has learned.
But, here is what I learned directly from Nacy. The medical hold UVA has placed prevents him from from sending off his offical transcripts to other colleges. In other words, Nacy would have to start his degree program all over again.
The good news is that Nacy was a transfer student, so his general education requirements would transfer to another institution.
The bad news is the length of time it will take for Nacy to start over his degree requirements at another instution. Plus, there is the added cost of moving expenses and the cost of another in station's tuition. Because of financial aid restrictions in Virginia, Nacy would not be eligible for assistance. Plus, Nacy still would owe UVA Medical Center for his medical bills.
Therefore, Nacy has chosen not to add additional expenses to his medical bills. Instead, we have chosen to fight against UVA's medical hold policy.
