New Information on UVA's Medical Holds

I would like to start off by thank my supporters for reading my petition. We literally had 24 supporters yesterday. Today, we are at 88 supporters and growing. I also wanted to thank the Change.org team for recognizing the importance of this petition and for sharing our story. I have an update I would like to share that is of upmost importance. On Wednesday (May 25, 2016), I spoke with an employee of Patient Financial Services at the University of Virginia Medical Center. The employee, who will remain nameless, mentioned that medical holds are not very easy to place on an account. Therefore, they are difficult to remove as well. I was also informed that in order to get a hold removed, the balance must be $10 or less. Finally, medical holds typically take two days to remove from an account. As a result of this new information, it is critical that Nacy raises the money he needs to get his hold removed. Therefore, if you will like to donate to Nacy, a link to his GoFundMe is included within my petition. Even if Nacy successfully reaches his fundraising goal, we will actively continue to fight against medical holds at UVA with your support! -Shane-
