Not only is today World Vegan Day, but this first week of November marks major news: on Wednesday, November 3, McDonald’s will finally introduce their long-awaited plant-based burger, the McPlant, in 8 locations around the U.S.

For years we have been asking McDonald’s to add a plant-based burger to their menu. Nearly 250,000 of us behind this petition have been urging McDonald’s to make this smart move, appeal to countless customers looking to reduce or eliminate meat from their diets, and help make their fast-food menu more healthy and sustainable.

This week we are one more step closer to victory. The McPlant will be available starting on Wednesday this week at 8 locations in these cities: Irving, TX; Carrollton, TX; Cedar Falls, IA; Jennings, LA; Lake Charles, LA; Manhattan Beach, CA; and El Segundo, CA.

It is only 8 locations for now, but the goal is this: a plant-based burger on every McDonald’s menu at every franchise in the country. And we can get there: already McDonald’s has added a plant-based burger to menus in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

Thank you for being part of this campaign. Over the years we have taken the signatures of this petition directly to McDonald’s shareholders, and even to their own corporate headquarters in Chicago. The company is listening, and they’re going to continue hearing from customers like us until the McPlant is available on all menus.

Take a moment right now to share this message on Twitter with McDonald’s using the hashtag #McPlant, and urging the company to make this plant-based burger a national menu item.
