MBBS Supplymentary Exams in Pakistan must be conducted without any delay.

The Issue

MBBS supplymentary students hoping to get promoted without an exam is incredibly unlikely. So please stop pursuing this notion as it would cost us a year or more of our academic life.

Exams must be conducted following SOP’s, issued by designated institues/bodies, in the respective colleges of the supply students. A strict protocol should be enforced during the exams by institutes to guarantee the health and safety of the students, staff, invigilators, etc. Do keep in mind that we all aspire to join our fellow healthcare professionals fighting on the front line so let's be courageous enough to take all protective measures on our part and sit the exam.

Nonetheless, there should be an alternate option for students under distress who cannot attend their exams during the pandemic(be it stuck overseas, travel, health, etc). I recommend that they should be given an option to sit another supplymentary exam later on in the year as advised by their institutes Only those who couldn't appear in the original supply exam should be eligible for this special circumstances exam.

The possibility of conducting a viva seems very risky during these troubled times so the previous viva marks can be carried forward for students who have passed theirs and for those who have not, their internal assessments marks could be used to predict an equivalent score.

The purpose of this petition is to emphasize the importance of conducting these exams as early as possible so that all MBBS students can rejoin their respective batches and prepare for the next professional exam timely and the Final year students could join their batch to serve the nation in these crucial times. We cannot risk getting our degrees delayed or maybe getting unrecognized degrees following the notion of exam free promotions.
