Hello, I hope you are all doing well. I am writing today to ask you to contact County Executive Candidate Barry Buchanan to get his stance on broadband. We all learned the hard way that current County Executive Satpal Sidhu went out of his way to sabotage progress on necessary infrastructure to protect special interests, but what will Barry do? Well, in the background we've been trying to get a response from him and a few others like mayoral candidate Kim Lund. Sadly, they are stonewalling on the issue and hoping not to answer questions about it. So, I'm asking you to please remind them that we need this infrastructure for the reasons outlined in this petition and more, the need for it has only increased, and we at least deserve an answer on the subject.
Here is Barry's contact info:

Here is an example e-mail from the e-mails we've already sent him in the background if you'd like to use it for reference.
"Thanks Barry, I'm wondering with you as County Executive will we finally have a Dig Once Policy and begin building a public fiber-optic network? Will you support an RRUL network load test based study instead of inaccurate browser based speed test studies?
Note: Satpal personally scuttled an $11,000 RRUL based study to protect special interests and then spent $100,000 on a less accurate browser based study to appease the same special interests instead. Can we expect a more reasonable approach from you? Can we expect you to at least seek out the truth when it comes to infrastructure?
There are a lot of pretend fiber connections out there, most are obsolete old Frontier DSL connections being passed off as fiber in a county-wide big telecom run scam. Wireless and satellite are, at best, extensions of fiber and do not negate the need for a public fiber network like they have in Anacortes, Hillboro, OR, Mount Vernon and more. Cable is obsolete as well."
