
I am sad to say that recently the PUD hired a new GM that plans on behaving like the old GM in relation to fiber. It's annoying because they had an opportunity to hire anyone and specifically said they were looking for someone with experience with fiber. While the new GM does have experience with fiber, he recently reported that he refuses to use the PUD retail authority bill that we fought so hard for to actually provide service. Please recall, that this bill gave PUDs the authority to act as your service provider (aka ISP). So please, write to him and let him know that we expect the PUD to help us address virtually all of our social and economic concerns by exercising their authority to install fiber and act as a service provider, as we literally enabled them to do by supporting the PUD retail authority bill and getting it passed. Also, let them know that behaving like the old PUD general manager who let us rot during the entire pandemic is no longer acceptable. Thanks in advance.
