Our voices are being heard!

After emailing a message to the mayor and members of the Bloomfield Town Council that we would be speaking at their meeting on Monday, September 25, we lined up five speakers. Before the meeting, our message spread via articles penned by BCSC members for the 2 local papers and a social media, email, and phone blast. In all, 13 people, including two pastors from local churches with solar panels and 2 representatives from Temple Ner Tamid which installed solar panels 10 years ago, spoke out for Bloomfield to get serious about installing solar panels on its buildings. The faith leaders stressed the moral imperative, not just saving money. And our efforts paid off! The town government is finally interested in working with us, we are told. This would never have happened without all this publicity. Please join us on Oct. 7th when we will be spreading the word at a table at the Bloomfield street fair called "Harvest Fest". And mark your calendars: On October 26, at the Bloomfield Civic Center at 7 p.m., we will give a PowerPoint presentation on how Bloomfield and other towns can save A LOT of $$ by installing solar.
