We the supporters and parents of this petition appreciate the opening on outdoor kids sports and we thank you for that.

We feel that it is unfair to tell spectators/parents they are not allowed to sit and watch their kids practice or play games. We have to sit in our cars and try to watch from our cars if it’s even possible. The City and County says we are allowed to gather but in a safe way to prevent the spread of COVID, yet people are allowed to sit in a bar indoors and watch a sports game on tv, people are allowed to sit on a beach, people are allowed to fly on a plane, tourist are allowed watch a luau and people are allowed to have large events up to a 1000 people with just masking rules and if over a 1000 it must be 50% of what ever total number over a 1000 and in which most of these events are not even following rules.

Just this last weekend the Polynesian Bowl was held with HIGH SCHOOL All Stars from all over the country playing at Kamehameha Schools Stadium , the same stadium that our local high school athletes play on and guess what? the stadium was full with spectators from all over the country! How is this even make any sense?

It is very unfair to spectators that can do the right things the CDC recommends by social distancing outdoors on a huge open field or stadium and wearing a mask and watch our kids play sports safely. The new CDC guidelines even say that if you been vaccinated and others around you are vaccinated you don’t have to use a mask around them outdoors.

We are asking to revise the current rules with the schools and allow spectators at kids school sporting events with these simple safety precautions
Responsible citizens shouldn’t be penalized becuase of the city’s incapability to enforce the rule for those who choose not to be responsible and follow simple COVID rules.
