Dear No Safeway Megatowers Supporter,

Even though it’s the middle of summer, we are gearing up for our fall campaign.

Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far - with time, donations, leaflet distribution and/or writing a letter to Vancouver City Council.

Right now we need financial help. Can you make a donation?

It is quite likely that there will be a public hearing in the fall for the proposed development of three megatowers at Safeway at Broadway and Commercial.

The massive luxury development will permanently alter the unique character of the Commercial Drive area.

There is only a meagre amount of non-market suites in the proposal. Instead of a sunny public plaza as required by the community plan there will only be a narrow urban canyon in the shadow of the noisy skytrain line.

We are up against a well-funded developer, along with the Crombie Real Estate Investment Trust, owner of the Safeway site. The Crombie REIT controls $4.8 billion in properties across Canada. It only seeks to maximize its profits with this luxury development.

**To carry on, we urgently need your financial support. **

We need money for future outreach with lawn signs (not cheap), to print more leaflets for distribution and for events to raise public awareness.

It will be a busy fall.
