Wednesday, 20 January 2021. It is time to stop the petition. More than 7,200 people have shown their support and for this we are very grateful. We know we are messy and can make a bit of noise, but Tyneside is our home. We like it here. We do not wish to cause problems for people. That is not our intention and we apologise if we have caused any trouble. The netting looks like it is fitted well – a good job has been made, and the landlord is looking out for their residents. We shall find another ledge to nest upon, but would like to stay in the area. We have a long history of nesting beside the River Tyne ferry landing at North Shields and often think of our parents and grandparents watching the ferries coming and going in years gone by. Here the North Sea can provide for us and we like the people, who are friendly and generous. We look forward to seeing you soon, once back from the sea.
