Maybe it is time to start pushing this petition once again. We on this side know that treatment/treatment facilities/rehabs is the one important steps in the process that is missing around here. If only they could see it too!!!!!! The Detox Center was approved by the zoning commission. That is just one step in the entire process. Detox from this addiction is the very first step. After detox, what then? Will they be moved far away from here for the rest of their treatment? Will they just be discharged and back to the streets to once again become repeats in the detox chain? From our own experience of just the past eight months with our sons addiction I don't think our son is the only example, drug addiction and mental illness go together. You can't treat one and not the other otherwise you are only putting bandaids on the issue and not focusing on the whole picture.
