We the undersigned demand the hiking trails of Hawaii be re-opened to the public immediately. Access to nature is essential to maintain physical and mental health, and for many this is the only affordable option (it’s free). Closing nature while allowing many other businesses to remain open (gyms, strip clubs, and other establishments) where there are known cases and spread does not protect public health. No proof has been given to show any danger of COVID-19 transmission while hiking. Please allow members of the same household to hike together in groups under 10 during this time of public health crisis.
