Thank you for supporting our petition. Riverside has few cultural markers of our past left. For us to cast aside what remains of our history without a thoughtful process is reckless at best and willfully negligent at worst. This doesn't need to happen. 

Please tomorrow, Tuesday the 5th of January, draft a public comment to be read into the record by our city clerk Samantha Burnett: sburnett@eastprovidenceri.gov

The council must hear your Voices. Words that they didn't hear from a single member of our community when they voted 5-0 after 7 minutes and 15 seconds of discussion. Up to that point their had been one public forum in late 2019 at the Riverside Library and another on October 13th 2020 with 15 people in the rain at 4pm. Not once has the public seen a qualified plan nor a mention of impending demolition.

Your public comment is critical. My words before the council on Wednesday evening will ring hallow without yours beside them.
