Cornwall Council's very dubious 'Big Deal' Consultation closes on February 17. Outrageously it doesn't ask if you want a referendum on a Mayor (although that is a legal Government approved option). Please do respond. You don't have to answer al the questions. The KEY ONE is QUESTION 11. 

QUESTION 11 allows you to say you STRONGLY DISAPPROVE of the Mayor Deal. You can also call for a referendum in the comments box.

NB of course the deal details on offer are not bad things. But we can get them in Cornwall anyway once the Mayor is rejected. No way will Government want to be seen to punish Cornwall in the run up to a General Election. And if there is a change in Government there will be a Deal offered with no requirement of a Mayor. This is being rushed through and it's hard to find anyone who agrees with it. Three of our (Conservative) Cornwall MPs have already come out against it!

Remember - the current Mayor Deal would put all power into one person to rule Cornwall. There is no money on the table whatsoever to fund council services. Nothing at all.
