We have passed 3,000 signatures. Thank you! If/when we reach 5,000 we can ensure there is a debate at Cornwall Council on letting the people decide if there is a Mayor. 

Council Leader Linda Taylor says she wants to be Mayor. But she says she doesn't want the people of Cornwall to decide if there is one in the first place! This is what we need to challenge. We know that many councillors are becoming very uneasy about this. A simple vote for a referendum is possible in the Government rules. That's what we are aiming for.

PS: Did you know? A Mayor of Cornwall would be paid around £80,000 a year. That's double what Cllr Linda Taylor gets now as Leader. It seems odd (putting it mildly) that she is not asked more about this, as she declares she wants the job and simultaneously says there shouldn't be a referendum...
