Citizens for the Future of Ft. Negley Park

Citizens for the Future of Ft. Negley Park
The Issue
From slavery to soldiers to freedom, the remarkable African American Heritage of Nashville all of it, began here at St. Cloud Hill and Ft. Negley Park.
This petition began in 2017 to fight the decision of city leaders to give public parkland to private developers to build 27 buildings and nearly 300 apartments on this hallowed land.
Now we must, as citizens, lead the way forward. Generations of Nashville city leaders have tried to bulldoze the past, to hide it in overgrowth, to padlock it closed and to be sure no signs led the way from the Interstate.
Now is our time, 90 years from the initial vision for this parkland, to realize the full potential of our city, our state, and our nation in coming together to tell this complete story.
We need your voice.
Alice Ganier Rolli
Local District 17 Resident & great-granddaughter of one of the founders of Radnor Lake State Park
