Proclaim July 7 as National ROX Day

Proclaim July 7 as National ROX Day
The Issue
In the summer of 1992, one of the most celebrated cable access shows of all time was born in a basement in Bloomington, Indiana. Billed as a “mixed-drink cooking show” and hosted by Bartender J (Joe Nickell) and Editor B (BartEverson), the low-tech, no-budget series known as ROX would later go on to be lauded as “the best TV show in America” (Wired) and “the first TV show in cyberspace” (Time).
On July 7 of 2013, ROX finally turns 21 — the legal drinking age in Indiana and most if not all of the rest of the country. Ironically, neither of the show's founders drink anymore. (Not much, anyway.) But that shouldn't stop the people of Bloomington from having a good time.
Therefore we urge Mayor Mark Kruzan to defy all protocols of discretion and good taste to proclaim July 7 as National ROX Day.
