The Issue

If you love QuikTrip (QT), enjoy their convenience stores, clean restrooms, good food, friendly staff, and affordable gas, please consider signing this petition.

I know many people are QT brand loyalists and enjoy the great service they receive when shopping at their many area stores as well as across Texas and Oklahoma.

As the Bulverde Spring Branch area grows, access to affordable top tier quality gasoline is becoming harder and less convenient. Several years ago we lost a major gas station at the South East corner of Hwy 46 and Hwy 281 and it is possible that with the 281 and 46 expansion, we will lose the Chevron station at the South West corner. In fact, the Wendy's at that location has already been forced to close because of the land being taken by TXDOT for these expansion efforts.

TXDOT is in the process of acquiring all of the Right of Way (ROW) along Hwy 46, and has started clearing all of the trees in the newly acquired ROW, all for the much needed improvements along this corridor in an effort to increase mobility. With this expansion project, TXDOT will be widening HWY 46 at Stahl Lane and River Way to 8 vehicular lanes of traffic plus 2 lanes for bicycles, including turn lanes in each direction at Stahl Lane and River Way. In addition to the widening they will be cutting down the hill that currently causes so many rear-end collisions at the light. Needless to say, all of these improvements will increase safety and mobility.

The City of Bulverde is a GREAT community, and the city government is and will continue to protect the area as well the area residents when it comes to platting, drainage, and environments issues. QT is a great corporate citizen, takes care of their employees and provides a safe environment for their customers.

QT has agreed to cooperate with TXDOT and Bulverde for much needed Stahl Lane improvements to the benefit of those residents that travel that intersection.

QT has agreed to limit light pollution and meet the Dark Skies objectives and any applicable ordinances.

QT has agreed to over detain by 8.7 times, with a detention pond, the volume of flood waters during a rain event to protect the down stream neighbors.

QT has agreed to dedicate 6 acres out of the 10 acres as green space that would never be able to be built on.

QT has agreed to Exceed the environmental requirements posed by TCEQ and the City of Bulverde by not only installing a triple wall tank but to also install a bladder system to detect and collect any potential leaks from the underground gasoline storage tanks.

QT has agreed to construct their building with 100% masonry which exceeds the City building standards.

QT has agreed to install a light and sound wall to limit the amount of noise and light that would be able to be seen by the adjoining properties.

QT wants your support please consider signing this petition and showing QT that they are welcome in Bulverde.
