Long story short: the pump track will only exist until it doesn’t anymore. SDHC declared it a liability & is determined to build or sell to a developer. The Feasibility Study is at 80%. Projected to be finished in about a year.
The closed door meeting was held about the pump track. Residents concerns regarding open space, easements, environmental impact, etc have yet to be addressed by SDHC. We look forward to pushing ahead on the larger picture in the near future.
If you have any faith in closed door meetings, then the small glimmer of hope is that the Mayor & staffers are excited to hear about possible sites for a bike park in OB/PL area. Considering this is coming from the same place as the 2012 ‘land swap’ conclusion & the shortage of true City owned & available open space on the point - I’ll hold my celebration, personally.
Thank you for all the support!!! There will definitely be an update to this Petition asap when have our next steps more firmly in place to protect the open space. You can reach out via email to famosaopenspace@gmail.com with your ideas, questions and/or comments.
