URGENT CALL TO ACTION

Good morning,

I would like take this time to thank all of you for voting to ban retail sales of dogs, cats and bunnies in Orange County. While there are more issues to tackle around breeding and selling animals in Orange County this is a HUGE step in the right direction.

Now onto Diesel. Diesel #A467791 is 12 years old and was surrendered to OCAS after his owners lost their home do to COVID. His former owner speaks very highly of him and says his loves children and cats.

Diesel was on the Last Chance List last week and would have been euthanized on Tuesday June 22nd at 6pm. However, Diesel got excited when a volunteer put a leash on him to take him out to play. He got excited jumping up to grab the leash and got the volunteers hand instead.  Diesel has a known leash aggression, I wonder if the volunteer was aware of this or trained to handle a dog with behavioral issues. Diesel is now on a 10 day hold. OCAS may decide to euthanize him instead of giving him a chance to be rescued.

The Pittie Party of Central Florida is willing to take Diesel and get him the training he needs. As of today June 23rd we have $2,690 dollars in pledges for Diesel. This will help cover the cost of his training and upkeep while living with his foster family. Once Diesel completes his training he will be able to be adopted to his furever home.

We need you to help save Diesel’s life and demand OCAS allow Pitti Party or another rescue to pull him and not euthanize him. Diesel is in this situation by no fault of his own. Diesel is a product of the lack of a full time behaviorist and trainer, lack of stimulation, and properly trained staff and volunteers at OCAS.

Please be a voice for Diesel. Please do not let him DIE.
