A Warriors Call ..... What an amazing week this has been

We have almost 2000 signatures in less than one (1) week since we started the petition. This is amazing but we still need more signatures to make an impact on our decision makers to initiate changes at OCAS. There are four (4) issues that cannot be forgotten

1.     Continue to share our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/FriendsOfShelterDogs) and my petition (https://change.org/Rebuild_Orange_County_Animal_Services)

2.     Send emails, call, or send letters to our decisions makers.
You can find their contact information here: https://www.orangecountyfl.net/BoardofCommissioners.aspx#.YMnz8uT3aA7
Or send an email to all of them using this link.

3.     There is a Orange County's Board of County Commissioners (BCC) meeting on Tuesdays 6/22 at ⏰ 9 a.m. Please attend if possible!!
The meeting be held at the Commission Chambers located on the first floor of the County Administrative Center at 201 S. Rosalind Avenue, Orlando, Florida.

4.     Orange County Commissioners are going to vote on an ordinance banning retail pet stores from selling puppies and kittens. There has been chatter that the pet stores are gearing up to have a lot of support against this ordinance. I am positive there are more animal lovers to show support FOR the ordinance.

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 22nd. This ordinance will be discussed during this hearing with a potential vote occurring. Now is the time for our voices to speak for the puppies who can not speak for the slices. If possible, please attend the hearing. If you would like to speak at the hearing, show up at 1:30pm. The hearing starts at 2pm. The location of the meeting is Orange County Bldg Department, 201 S. Rosalind Avenue, Orlando. More information about the meeting can be found here: https://fb.me/e/1rKGZfpbl

This may be the last chance we have to have our voices heard. If you cannot attend the hearing, please send another polite and professional email to the Mayor and Commissioners again restating the importance of this ordinance. Pet stores need to stop selling puppies who are products of inhumane commercial breeding facilities. Help us, help them.

Please be a voice for the voiceless and send an email or attend (or both). Emails should be sent to the same decision makers. Open a new email with this link link.
We’d love to thank you on behalf of the dogs.

And thank you so very much for your continuing support!
Elayne
