Letters to Clinton Officials Sent Out

Today we sent out 5 letters of request to ban performing animal acts from Clinton, IN. and ask that the Kelly Miller Circus sponsorship be retracted. Letters and supporting information were sent to the following officials: 1. Clinton Mayor Jack Gilfoy 2. City of Clinton Fire Chief Chris Strohm (the fire department is the entity sponsoring the Kelly Miller Circus' event on May 8) 3. Clinton City Superintendent Cindy Yates (the superintendent's office is the entity in charge of the city's public parks, including Sporland Park, where the Kelly Miller Circus event will take place) 4. City of Clinton Common Council 5. Clinton City Hall: Code Enforcement, Peggie Parsons (while there are no city ordinances prohibiting performing animal acts in Clinton nor are there any required permits except for vendors, we have encouraged Ms. Parsons to use PETA's "Basic Tips Inspecting Elephants in Circuses" guide for law enforcement officials.)
