There are so many animals given to new homes for little to no cost. A bigger amount, I think, than we all realize are being used for dog fighting. Whether that is training them to fight or using them to train another dog. If we can make it so people have to pay at least $100 for a very wanted pet, we can cut back on: dog fighting, bans on certain breeds, illegal guns and drugs, gambling. In turn, the money spent to adopt a pet from a private owner can be put towards a rescue organization or our shelters. In doing this, I believe we can start attacking the stray epidemic. There will be more financial opportunity for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). There may be enough in donations to expand kennels so there's bigger chance for pets to be adopted vs euthanized. I will attach a link to support my claims that this will help lessen crime in the area.
