Dear Friends

Due to family crises and challenges on the home front that took most of my time I was not able to put together the team on time for the municipal election. Five weeks is too short to get organized even for a municipal election. I did not want to run for mayor or councillor as an independent with today's crowd of God knows how many candidates. It was most gratifying, however, to see that several high-profile mayoralty candidates ran with some of the proposals set out on my Restore Vancouver platform. In this respect, our campaign has not been in vain. The idea has always been to make voters aware of real issues and really workable solutions, not necessarily to get involved in local politics.

Unfortunately we as Vancouverites, and other Greater Vancouver residents, are facing serious issues the solutions for which exceed municipal powers and jurisdiction. Don't hold your breath for fulfillment of empty pre-election promises. The Province holds the keys to our future. Watch for a centre-of-the-road provincial party.
