Route 66 highway has been converted into a two lane road with the outside lane being used as a full sized buffered bike lane.  As one of Tulsa's main artery roads and historically being America's most travelled roads this has created not only a huge inconvenience but a major safety hazard.  We've kept a tally since the project completion four days ago and have recorded thousands of cars, two accidents, numerous close calls and only four bikers (three of which were riding on the sidewalk).  While bike lanes and bicycle safety is very important sacrificing the safety and importance of Route 66 is not a wise idea.  We hope to bring this lack of judgement to the mayor of Tulsa, Mayor G.T. Bynum, and Tulsa INCOG.  We need this road to be put back to it's safe configuration immediately.
