The Issue

The city of Pembroke Pines states that chickens cannot be backyard animals and/or pets. This is a city that is recognized as a bird sanctuary and for this very reason, Mayor Frank Ortiz should abide by this ordinance (87-34 Ordinance No. 852) allowing Chickens "Birds" to be considered pets like the state of Florida has made it legal to own Chickens aka Birds in the City of Pembroke Pines.
Definition of a Bird any warm-blooded vertebrate of the class Aves, having a body covered with feathers, forelimbs modified into wings, scaly legs, a beak, and no teeth, and bearing young in a hard-shelled egg as per Dictionary.com
The ordinance reads as follows:

A. The city of Pembroke Pines is hereby a "Bird Sanctuary"

This ordinance has been in effect since the 21st of October 1987. Passed and Adopted on the 18th of November, 1987. Chickens are to be raised in a coup and can serve as part of the ecological system for pest control, organic fertilization of grounds, supporting psychological health, natural composting, less wasted food, fewer garbage disposals, reducing garbage mountain productions, stress relief, companionship, fighting climate change, restabilizing the soil grounds and building a happy home to name a few.
In these times, we must know that having pet friends that can help you in many ways. Hopefully, we realize that we must create abundant soil in our yards just in case. The food supply chain gets overwhelmed and is not able to feed us. Having Chickens helps reproduce soil composting and in turn producing rich nutrients to our underground network that is in complete devastation. 100 Years ago food had 50% more nutrients, vitamins, and minerals than today. Let us restore our soil grounds and fight climate change while gaining new family members. Please sign my petition and/or donate to create a movement to change the City of Pembroke Pines ordinance that does not allow Chickens as Pets.
We believe that chickens are essential to life and having nutrient-enriched soil while also getting pest control benefits of a chicken! They deserve to live a happy life in a home where they are not mistreated and help us reduce the garbage waste going to garbage mountains and polluting our air. We all had homemade garbage disposals (Organic Food Only) 100 years ago. They were chickens and they are here today but not doing the best part of their lives. Living with a loving family that nurtures them while in return they make our land fruitful and enriched with the 52 essential and nonessential nutrients our plants need to give us organically enriched foods with high density in nutrients.

Please, we all petition the City of Pembroke Pines governmental staff to understand the plea our residents are making for the health of the soil, pest control, reducing food garbage waste, creating nature in our backyards, feeding our owls/falcons from time to time, embracing life's ecological systems, creating black gold (amazing soil), feeding our underground networks of rooting systems we neglect daily, living with birds that are loving and mistreated daily, and pleasing the residents that have large enough backyards to own chickens. It's not easy but the hard work pays off and we would love to have chickens in these uncertain times.
