I attended last nights City Council meeting and listened to Mayor Micheal Fougere's commitment to acting on the recommendations of the TRC report. Janine from the RIIS Commemorative Association spoke passionately for the children and survivors of this school and I know that all her efforts and the work and dedication of so many others have led us to this. But this is only another starting point, just as the formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission was as well. We will wait and see what the city comes up with at the end of the year. Keep signing and sharing as this petition not only brings awareness to the politicians and policy makers but to all Canadians and to people around the world. The children and survivors of the RIIS will not be forgotten.
