Thank you very much for signing our petition to make streets safer around San Mateo schools.  With your support, we will be able to lower speed limits in these areas.

The good news is that we are at 150 or so signatures.  This is a great accomplishment in a short time.  Broad support of the measure is vital in convincing the City Council to pass a resolution lowering speed limits.

The even better news is that Mayor Eric Rodriguez has signed our petition!  Mayor Rodriguez called to let us know that he is committed to making all streets safer and less intimidating throughout San Mateo, especially in areas where our kids walk and bike.  While Mayor Rodriguez's support is vital, he can't do it by himself.  He urged us to continue building public support so we can convince other members of the City Council and staff that this is important to the community.

Thus, your next step is to solicit five more signatures for our petition.  Social media makes this easy.  You can post this link to Facebook and urge your friends and neighbors to sign:  https://www.change.org/p/mayor-eric-rodriguez-slower-streets-around-san-mateo-schools  You can also forward it via email.  Don't hesitate to explain why this is important to you.

Thanks so much for your help in making San Mateo streets safer for our kids (and others)!
