The Lower Stockton Improvement Project would transform Stockton Street between Market Street and Post Street in downtown San Francisco into a beautiful pedestrian-transit-bicycle mall. A variant of this idea has been tried on this block for several holiday seasons in a row and the merchants, visitors, and locals love it. Now they want it permanent.

Unfortunately, Rose Pak, a power player in nearby Chinatown who claims she represents the merchants of that neighborhood, is trying to not only stop the Lower Stockton Improvement Project but also any kind of public dialog on the subject. And she has the ears of the powerful in City Hall.
