Transparancy for Lockport Voters

More than 600 signatures in 2 days! Thank you all SO much for your overwhelming support to all the family's who's lives would be terribly affected by this industrial development, and to the incredible support to save Big Run Wolf Ranch. We want to encourage everyone to PLEASE continue to share this petition and help us stop these warehouses from destroying our communities. Your help is so important, and so encouraging to the impacted families. This plan was originally slated for discussion by the Lockport zoning board with only ONE, yes just one, Lockport resident informed. This initial zoning meeting was also set to take place on the Presidential Election night November 8th 2016. Thankfully word quickly spread, and the overwhelming uproar was heard on election night when a seemingly stunned zoning board was confronted with a room of more than 75 local homeowners who could not be quieted. At the meeting the community was told that this meeting (that only 1 resident was notified of) was purely provided as a courtesy, and it wasn't even required. The initial push back from the community was so great, and so emotional, that the zoning board "tabled" the plans for a later date. As a community we must demand transparency. The groundswell of support in opposition to these plans has been tremendous. It shows how much pride and love for Lockport it's residents have. And as voting residents we have the right to know where elected officials and city representatives stand on this issue. The plan for this land will first have to pass the zoning board, the current Lockport zoning board members are: Bill Molony, Chairman Dave Oxley, Vice Chairman Scott Likins Brent Porfilio Lance Thies Jim Bilotta Sherry Wold After the vote we will post who voted for, and who voted against these development plans so every voting citizen can see who aligned with their vision for the future of Lockport. If this passes the zoning commission we will post the same vote results for the city council. We only want what is best for the safety of our families and the future of our community. The question was posed to the warehouse developer from Prologis at the November 8th meeting: “Sir, do you live next to one of your industrial warehouse developments?” ..his answer was “Well.. .. …No.” With your support we can protect the families of Lockport from this atrocity, and provide them the opportunity to say “NO”, just as the Prologis developers have for their own families.
