Thank you to everyone who shared and signed this petition and contacted our local representatives in support of composting.

Unfortunately, NYC is suspending curbside composting from May 4, 2020 to at least June 30, 2021. 

With community gardens and the greenmarkets already closed, we are left with no public composting options.

This will increase the amount we send to landfills and incinerators by over 100 million pounds per year. And this marks the end, for now, of America's largest curbside composting program. 

It’s a sad day for those who love composting.
