Urgent Action Needed

We are in a crunch time, and our deadline is November 15th when Council could approve this project in the budget. Your signature will be presented to Council, but we need you to take the next step to really make an impact. Please sign and copy and paste this message, or your own, to each councillor. Email addresses are at the bottom:
Dear Councillor. I understand that there is urgency to provide the hockey community with much needed ice space. However, Peterborough desperately needs park space too. Your own Parks and Open Space Planning Guidelines show that "The quantity of Neighbourhood parkland is below the recommended standard."
Morrow Park has been zoned O3, which prohibits the construction of an arena there, and was meant to protect the land for the Agricultural Society. I oppose the city's rezoning of this land via the extension of the Central Area land use designation in the Official Plan to encompass Morrow Park.
I understand that most of the money for this project will have to be borrowed initially, and that there is more borrowing room there. Please consider relocating the Twin-pad plan to the old Canoe Museum site. Let Peterborough have an arena AND a park. Take care of the citizens that need hockey rinks, and the citizens that need parks at the same time.
