MPC Votes for Demolition, contact your city council members!

Unfortunately the MPC voted to accept the new siteplan and rezoning for the new apartment complex that requires the demolition of Seaboard Freight Terminal building.

Alderman Van Johnson who represents the 1st district where the freight terminal is located has already signed the petition! Van Johnson said on his facebook "I was initially told that this historic building lacked structural integrity & now I am learning that this may not be so. The Historic Savannah Foundation has offered to foot the cost of a independent structural assessment. Unless this is independently determined, I will not support the demolition of this historic structure. #Savannah"
