I know it's an embarrassing subject, it is inherently shameful, but it is NECESSARY that we broach it. There is no other way to PREVENT child sex abuse.
Tell your children from the time they are in diapers that their body is private, insist that they tell you if anyone touches or hurts them, promise to protect them, ALWAYS BELIEVE THEM FIRST, AND ALWAYS DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO MAKE ABUSE STOP.
Many of you remain silent after a lifetime of abuse or knowledge of abuse, and even to this day your own guilt (whether real or imagined) prevents you from fighting the fight and supporting the ones who speak up. YOU HAVE GOT TO BREAK THE SILENCE.
We focus so much on the victims, BUT WHAT ARE WE ACTUALLY DOING TO PREVENT FURTHER ABUSE??!! Are we closing down, sanctioning, limiting, monitoring --or even investigating at all-- the organizations and institutions that are ideal for (and often designed to) perpetuate and disguise child sex abuse? Are we holding PARENTS responsible as we do doctors and teachers for not reporting abuse? We aren't even keeping repeat offenders under lock and key, let alone first time offenders. WHAT ARE WE ACTUALLY DOING TO PREVENT FURTHER ABUSE??!!

WE NEED MAXIMUM SENTENCES THE FIRST TIME AND EVERY TIME FOR CHILD SEX OFFENDERS.

Dile a tus hijos desde que están en pañales que su cuerpo es privado, insiste en que te digan si alguien los toca o lastima, promete protegerlos, SIEMPRE CREÉLES PRIMERO Y SIEMPRE HAZ LO QUE SEA NECESARIO PARA DETENER EL ABUSO. Muchos de ustedes permanecen en silencio después de toda una vida de abuso o conocimiento del abuso, e incluso hasta el día de hoy su propia culpa (ya sea real o imaginaria) les impide luchar y apoyar a los que hablan. TIENES QUE ROMPER EL SILENCIO. Nos enfocamos mucho en las víctimas, PERO, ¿¡¿QUÉ ESTAMOS HACIENDO REALMENTE PARA PREVENIR MÁS ABUSO?! ¿Estamos cerrando, sancionando, limitando, monitoreando, o incluso investigando, las organizaciones e instituciones que son ideales para (y a menudo diseñadas para) perpetuar y disfrazar el abuso sexual infantil? ¿Estamos responsabilizando a los PADRES como lo hacemos con los médicos y maestros por no denunciar el abuso? Ni siquiera mantenemos bajo llave a los infractores reincidentes, y mucho menos a los infractores primerizos. ¡¡¡¿QUÉ ESTAMOS HACIENDO REALMENTE PARA PREVENIR MÁS ABUSO??!!

NECESITAMOS PENA MÁXIMA LA PRIMERA VEZ Y CADA VEZ PARA LOS QUE SON CULPABLES DE ABUSO SEXUAL INFANTIL.
