I feel that the dissection of animals for school science classes such as rats or frogs is cruel and completely useless. I want to stick up for the animals after my dissection experience was truly traumatizing as mine was pregnant. That was an awful sight to see that this harmless animal that I was already emptying of organs was carrying an unborn rat. We are not only using ANIMALS for science when they have no ability to reject or decline this "experiment" but they are being killed for science considering they are simple creatures of God that have families and want to live their own life! I am in 7th grade and we do more dissection in 10th grade, by then, it should be part of an elective for a biology program because at our age we should only be doing the virtual dissection, considering none of us are 100% sure of our future profession and if we do nothing about it, we will be killing more and more animals and be loosing so many little lives for "science".
