While states may have safe haven laws, they are not consistent across the country, and as such limit the ability of parents and service providers to potentially save the life of a young child. There is a solution, but only a hand full of states have Safe Haven Baby Boxes (SHBB). Safe Haven Baby Boxes are temperature controlled, clean, monitored and safe, usually attached to fire stations, police departments or hospitals, where parents can hand over their babies anonymously. So far, states that have SHBB are Indiana, Ohio, Arkansas, Arizona and Florida. We want to change that and add at least Maryland to this list. 

This organization is important to us because life is important. Without a safe place like the SHBB, these babies may be abused, neglected or just left somewhere to die. SHBB offer a chance at life, an opportunity to grow up, to explore the world and maybe change the world! As foster parents of almost 20 children, we understand that one of every child's dreams is just to have a family that cares for them and loves them with all their hearts. As Maryland state ministry leaders of 420 Fire, we join a mandate that America Shall Be Saved. By partnering with SHBB, we also proclaim America's Babies Shall Be Saved.
