Benito is a 3-year-old male giraffe who was taken from his mother and home where he was properly taken care of in the right environment and with other animals of his kind. He was transported in inhumane conditions for 22 hours to a "park" in Juarez, MX where he has no access to grass, clean water/food, or even proper shade. Juarez previously had another giraffe named Modesto who suffered tremendously in silence for years as temperatures in Juarez are not appropriate for a giraffe. With winter temperatures of -14 degrees at times, no proper shelter, reduced space without a single tree and with a diet mainly dictated by the park's visitors, Modesto suffered and died in horrible conditions.

The state's government has now brought Benito to take his place and live the same solitary fate as Modesto did. WE ARE IMPLORING that pertinent authorities take responsibility of Benito's wellbeing and release him to an APPROPRIATE place where he will be properly cared for and loved; which we have found!!!...

THE GOOD NEWS is that Benito has been accepted into an amazing place in Texas where there are over 360 acres full of trees and grass, giraffes among other animals and PROPER food and veterinary care. The owner of this ranch is a fellow animal lover and is ready to help get Benito medical care from a US Board Certified Veterinarian as well as humanely transported to his new home ASAP.

Benito es una jirafa de 3 años de edad que fue separada de su mamá donde era cuidado apropiadamente junto con otros animales de su especie, fue transportado a Ciudad, Juárez en condiciones deplorables por 22 horas hasta el "Parque Central" donde no tiene acceso a pasto, comida/agua limpia en abundancia o sombra apropiada.

Previamente, Ciudad Juárez tuvo otra jirafa en situaciones similares llamada Modesto el cual sufrió por años en silencio, SOLO en un espacio reducido sin un solo árbol o vegetación, en condiciones deplorables y con una dieta dictada principalmente por los visitantes del parque. Con temperaturas que llegan hasta -14 grados en invierno y veranos con sol insoportable, Modesto sufrió en silencio en su vida solitaria hasta morir.

Ahora el gobierno ha decidido reemplazar a Modesto con Benito para seguir la misma trayectoria en un parque sin la capacidad de funcionar como zoológico y sin personal apto para el cuidado de animales exóticos. Cabe mencionar que varios animales han muerto incluyendo un león el cual fue ahorcado. Por estas razones estamos IMPLORANDO que las autoridades pertinentes tomen responsabilidad del bienestar de Benito y permitan que lo trasladen a un lugar mejor donde le den amor y cuidado apropiado el cual ya hemos encontrado...

LA EXCELENTE NOTICIA es que Benito ya ha sido aceptado en un rancho en Texas, E.U. donde tienen más de 320 hectáreas de vegetación, jirafas y animales de todo tipo que son libres y tienen cuidados apropiados por médicos veterinarios certificados en E.U. El dueño de este rancho es una persona responsable que ama y cuida de todos sus animales y está dispuesto a venir y recoger a Benito hasta Ciudad Juárez con transporte y cuidado veterinario apropiado.
