"Shutting down social media? That's nonesense! I'll do my part by voting in November."

"Doing our part" needs to take on a new meaning this year.  The world has changed.  Voters in States like California and New York, to name just a couple, are telling me that voting is their way to help remove Trump from office. The outcome of the 2016 election came down to roughly 77,000 votes in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan out of 136,000,000 votes cast. We need out of the box solutions (again with the boxes...) for the extremely complex and intractable problem of fake news. In addition to voting in November, would you please forward this petition through your networks even if you don't believe in it, thus giving a chance to someone else to decide for themselves? Thanks for considering!

After our 2016 dark hour of the soul, a study from researchers at Ohio State University suggested that about 4% of President Barack Obama's 2012 supporters were dissuaded  from voting for Clinton in 2016 by belief in fake news stories.

  • Votes for Obama/Biden in 2012 = 65,915,795
  • 4% of 65,915,795 = 2,636,632
