From all our family I would like to thank the 15,044 people that have taken the time to read and sign Cheryl’s petition, our family thank each and everyone of you.

Mr speakman will hopefully now listen to all of you and our families plea and to have the thing who confessed to abducting and murdering Cheryl because she fought back, answer for his hideous crime.

How can a person who confesses to abducting a little 3 year old girl because he wants to have sex with her, (Sick thing) then murder her because she had courage to scream and fight back still be walking around the streets. 

When this thing was finally arrested after nearly 45 years of incompetence by Wollongong and NSW police he spent 2 years incarcerated not once saying he did not do what he was charged with, but then a judge allows him to walk free because of a law that was brought in many years after he confessed (Retrospective Law) surely this law was not brought in to protect self confessed murders, no matter what your age is when you commit a Murder. 

The murderer has not once complained about his 2 years being incarcerated, WHY  because he finally thought police had done their job, and all it took was for 2 dedicated police officers who had a care factor confirm all that he stated in his confession to be true. Any innocent person who spent nearly 2 years locked up would be screaming out his innocence and I’m sure suing the system.

This confession needs to be heard in a court of law, Cheryl’s voice needs to be heard by the people our family need some type of resolution. 

We just want answers and the truth heard, the people that agreed to serve and protect, especially our young children need to do better, this cannot happen to another family. 

The truth has always been right in front of them.
