Drilling Update

Yesterday and today, neighbors saw trucks driving around the site at 68th & Carr and people drilling holes in the ground. What's going on? Arvada's Rob Smetana visited the site. "Looks like they were taking soil samples at various locations," he wrote. A "Soils Report" is one of many required documents in the development application packet. In their packet, the developer submitted a Soils Report only for the proposed paired home near the top of the hill. After reviewing the report, the City required the developer to submit a report for the remainder of the site. Between Rob's first-hand observation and the City's request for a complete report, this seems a probable explanation for the drilling. Incidentally, this helps us verify where things are in the application process. The City has reviewed the entire application and has sent comments to be addressed, which the developer is doing now. Once the developer submits the requested updates, the City will review the application materials again. There are several neighbors watching the site and reporting any happenings, such as traffic ropes, the "Under Contract" sign, and the drilling. Thank you. Please keep them coming.
