Say NO to a massive new quarry on Arthurs Seat.

Hillview Quarries have applied to the Planning Minister, Richard Wynne, to open a massive new quarry on the northern slopes of Arthurs Seat. They are planning on having a pit of 38 ha (over 80 acres) in area and 190 m deep ( over 600 feet deep). This proposal would result in clearing of 38 ha of native vegetation that provides an essential biolink between two sections of the Arthurs Seat State Park.
This direct approach to the minister is a blatant move by Hillview to limit the opportunity that the community has to object.
This site is an important remnant of the Peninsula native vegetation and located in one of the states main tourist regions. There are other sources of granite. This site is too precious to lose.
